Cozy Fall Ukelele Look

Recently Mike and I have both been slammed with work, schedules, and projects. All great things, but it means we especially treasure our late night chats and what I call "Mike and Karissa's Music Hour". We will find ourselves staying up way too late on the couch with the Ukulele. We'll work on creating fun covers and last night we stayed up working on a cover of "It's You I Like" by Fred Rogers. If you don't know this song, give it a listen. It's so simple and charming and wonderful. I don't know about you, but when I get a melody stuck in my head, it will stay there bouncing around for days. I have been humming this one all day today.

I love music; I'm nearly positive that everyone does. There is something about the fall that makes me want to dust off the Ukulele and work on some songs. It's therapeutic and comforting and cozy.

Funnily enough, it wasn't until I looked at these photos after the fact that I saw my influence from the movie/musical, Once. I love this movie so much. From the first time I saw it, I was instantly in love with the look Marketa Irglova wears throughout most of the film. The sweater over the dress with tights, boots, and a big scarf to keep you warm. This tends to be my fall/winter go-to. It is so comforting to me, just like pulling the Ukulele off the shelf.

I cannot get over the beautiful golden leaves falling all over the city. They are beyond vibrant and gorgeous. It almost makes you believe that if you follow the path of leaves, you'll end up at the Emerald City.

Dress: Cherry Dress
Scarf: Found at a local Christmas market
Sweater: Anthropologie
Boots: Lollipop

If you have any fall music recommendations, I would love to know so please please leave them in the comments below! I'm always looking for new music. All photos in this post were taken by Mike :)

  4. Gorgeous! You, the outfit, the background! Everything! I love this oh so much! I love music! I have to listen to the right song while I right. It has to fit the mood of the scene I'm writing or my brain gets stuck. Do you guys record your covers for YouTube?
